Benefits Of Membership
The benefits of NAAIM membership depend in part on what the individual members are looking for and the level of involvement they invest.
In 1989, the founders of NAAIM set out to build an organization where there could be an open and free exchange of ideas among successful advisers and advisory firms in the industry. Where top advisers come to share and pick up ideas from peers, newer advisers and investment and service providers on practice management, compliance, trading platforms, new products, launching new business lines, reaching out to new clients, and increasing the loyalty of existing clients.
At the very least… you will received the Active Manager Newsletter every other month with thought provoking articles on:
- new trends in the industry,
- interesting insights into how to better use investment services and products,
- sources of new trend information,
- better business guidelines or procedures'
- regulatory issues the members need to be aware of,
- explanations on the need for active management that you can use with clients,
- and much more…
You will also have on-line access to the NAAIM Active Exchange and the NAAIM Products and Services Forum, with emails alerting you to new topics and comments. The adviser chatroom offers a multi-year, searchable backlog of discussions that may have just the insights you are looking for.
Adviser members can promote their services on NAAIM’s Find an Active Manager database or place classified online ads in the member’s only portion of our website.
The NAAIM Directory will provide you with information on other member firms, such as custodian used, back office software and other details to help you find the right members to network with.
Then it’s up to you…
You can participate in teleconferences and webinars from your desk or purchase audio and video recordings of NAAIM events to review when time permits.
Put the Annual NAAIM Conference – Uncommon Knowledge – on your calendar to attend. This is the largest gathering of NAAIM members and an excellent opportunity to network and build relationships with other advisers and vendors.
Plan to also attend at least one of the CRAM session held around the country each year. If you would like to have a session in your area, take the initiative and approach the board with your idea and topics.
And, volunteer on a NAAIM committee. It’s an excellent way not only to interface with fellow members, but it can also be the door that opens to new relationships with speakers you’ve always wanted to know, top investment companies, and much more.
* Professional Development. NAAIM organizes regular conference calls and seminars to help advisers stay current on compliance and regulatory changes, the latest in trading strategies and platforms, and a host of practice management issues.
