2016 NAAIM Wagner Award Competition Now Accepting Submissions – Register Today!
October 5, 2015 (Denver, CO) – The National Association of Active Investment Managers, or NAAIM, announced that the 2016 Call for Papers and Intent to Submit Form are now available on their website www.NAAIM.org for the eighth annual NAAIM Wagner Award competition. The competition is open to a variety of financial services professionals, from academic faculty, researchers and graduate students to investment advisors, analysts and other financial professionals.
The paper that demonstrates the best advancement in active investment management, as deemed by NAAIM’s judges, will receive $10,000 in prize money.
Please complete the Intent to Submit Form and email it to NAAIM by December 31, 2015.
FINAL Paper is due Monday, February 29, 2015.
The NAAIM Wagner Award competition has had over 160 papers submitted since its inception in 2007. For eight years, NAAIM has honored and rewarded those who demonstrate advancements in active investment management, with topics ranging from optimal momentum strategies to last year’s topic of risks and biases in trading systems.
Competition participants need to provide either a documented and justified investing approach or an exploration into the validity of active investing. Active investing topics can involve making investment decisions using technical analysis, quantitative analysis, etc. Papers can also address related topics such as position sizing techniques, money management approaches, scaling into and out of trades, exit strategies, etc.
The first-place Wagner Award winner will receive $10,000 and will be given an opportunity to present their paper at the NAAIM annual conference May 1 – 4, 2016 at the Westin Beach Resort and Spa in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Free conference attendance, domestic air travel and accommodations at the conference hotel will be provided.
Second and third place papers may receive $2,000 and $1,000, respectively, awarded at the judges’ discretion.
NAAIM asks that you complete a brief Submit to Intent form, located on the last page of the Call For Papers. The form is interactive – complete on your computer and submit via email or download and fax/mail in.

IMPORTANT: Please complete the Intent to Submit form, by December 15, 2015 so that NAAIM can contact you regarding important deadlines or information regarding the competition.
To qualify for the competition, final papers (up to 30 pages) together with a required 750-1000 word abstract must be submitted electronically to: firstname.lastname@example.org by Monday, February 29, 2016.
Awards will be announced by April 1, 2016. Winning papers will be posted to the NAAIM web site for your reference and publicized by NAAIM.
